Managing Attendance Statuses

1. First navigate to Administration > Standard Values





2. Within the Student Values box, click Attendance Status.





3. This screen will display any existing Attendance Statuses. From here new statuses can be created, or existing statuses can be edited. 

To create a new status, click Add Attendance Status





4. Fill in the details of the new status using the boxes provided (Details below) and then click Save

  • Site - Select the Site(s) that the status will be available for (E.g. School, College, or all)
  • Status - The name of the status that will appear when taking attendance.
  • Details - Any additional information for the status that will only be viewable from the previous screen as per step 3.
  • Present - Check this box if status means that the Student was present at any time.
  • Statistical Meaning - Select from the dropdown menu for reporting purposes. 
  • AM / PM - Select when this status will be available; AM, PM or both.
  • Include in Day Attendance - Check this box if you want the status to be an option when recording Day Attendance.
  • Require Attendance Notes - Check this box if additional notes will be required when selecting this status.





5. Similarly, existing statuses can be edited by clicking the Notepad Icon next to the relevant status and repeating step 4.


Note: Editing the details of existing attendance can have an effect on attendance reporting, for example changing 'Present' to 'Absent' will change any previously recorded present marks to absent.
