Setting up the Target Cache

7.  The Target Cache is a list of targets that can be picked from when setting up Targets or Baseline Assessments. First, head to Administration > Standard Values > Target Cache (Within the Defaults box) as shown in the screenshot below.

8.This gives you a list of all curriculum areas that have been created on your system. To create a new one, click Add Curriculum Area in the top right.

9. This will prompt you to give the curriculum a name. Also ensure that the Available is checked and Include on integrated baseline is checked if being used for Baselines. Then select the baseline scoring group from the dropdown menu.

Press Save in the bottom right when done.

10. This new curriculum area will now appear in the list – Click on the Curriculum Name to create targets, and / or make any changes from the previous step. 

It is worth noting for later, that pressing the will show the Core and Subject dropdowns, which you will be populating with targets shortly.

11. This will open a very similar box to step 9, however you can now add a skill area by clicking Add Skill Area followed by your option of choice, depending on if you are adding a Core skill, or a Subject Skill. In this example, I will click Add Core Skill Area.

12. Give your Skill Area a name, as prompted, making sure to select Available, and click Save.

13. As noted in step 10, you can now see this Skill Area within the Core dropdown menu. From here, click Communication (Or whatever your skill area is called to break this down further into skills, which can be repeated again to create targets. 

These targets can also be assigned tags which help in the future for tracking and reporting purposes. 

The screenshots below show how this process looks.



Clicking on the Skill area name allows you to make changes and / or add skills.

Give the Skill a name, and select Available, then save.

The Skill has now been created under the Skill Area which can be clicked again to add targets.

Similarly to before, this will open a box allowing you to edit the Skill or Add Target.

Give the Target a title, add a Tag using the dropdown menu, and press Save.

14. These steps can be repeated as many times as needed, so you can have multiple curriculums, each with their own multiple Skill Areas, Skills, and Targets to be easily assigned to learners going forward.
