How to Create a Baseline Assessment Using the Baseline Manager

This guide will look at the Baseline Manager screen and setting up baseline assessments.

1. First, click on Student > Baseline Manager. This will bring up a list of all learners which can be narrowed down using the filters above. Click on a Student name to add a new baseline assessment.

2. Select a batch ID from the dropdown menu, or create a new Batch ID through the Use new ID checkbox. Simply put, a Batch ID is group of Baseline Assessments; you may wish to create different batches for different groups of learners.

When finished with this, press Save.

3. Across the top of this new screen, you can now set a coordinator for the assessment, as well as a start and end date. Once these have been selected, click Assign Staff

4. From the dropdown box, select which member of staff will be assigned to the assessment, then press Assign.

5. This will bring up your Target Cache, allowing you to choose which targets you would like to create an assessment for. Similarly to the Target Cache screen, you can click the icon to expand each curriculum into Skill areas > Skills > Targets. Using the checkboxes, select which targets from the cache you would like to create an assessment for. Checking the box for a curriculum, will check all boxes within it.

It is often useful to save these selections as a template, especially if you expect to use these targets for multiple assessments. To do this, click Save as Template.

6. Select New Template, enter your template name in the Title box, and add any details in the Details box, then click Save.

7. This will now appear in the Templates list. Press Close to continue.

8. Next, click Save, then Done. This will take you to the learners assessment screen.

9. On this screen, you can see the targets that you pulled through from the cache, their scores and whether or not they have been achieved. The scores will be 0 at the moment, as the baseline assessment has not yet been completed.

You can also reassign or assign multiple staff the the assessment, or delete any unnecessary entries via the icons on the right.

10. This assessment is now ready to be completed by the assigned member of staff. There is another guide here on how to do this:
