The Baseline Manager screen is used to setup and edit any Baseline Assessments for Learners.
Locating the Baseline Manager
Navigate to Learners -> Baseline Manager in the left hand navigation menu. This will take you to the Baseline Manager screen where a list of Learners is displayed on the left hand side based on the filters above them which by default will be set to show current Learners.
You can click on the + icon next to any Learner to see any Baseline Assessments created for them and subsequently click on the + icon next to those to see any related Re-Assessments.
Creating a Baseline Assessment
To create a Baseline Assessment, first locate the Learner you wish to create one for on the left and side and click on them. A modal will appear asking you to enter the following information:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Batch ID | If you have created a batch ID previously and want to include this Assessment in that batch select the relevant one here |
Template | If you have setup any Templates and wish to use it for this Assessment, select it here. To learn more about Baseline Assessment Templates, follow this link - Baseline Assessment Templates |
Use New ID? | If you are creating a batch of Baseline Assessments and want to categorise them for finding them later and have not created a label for them yet, tick this box and use the next field accordingly |
New Batch ID | Used with the tick above to enter a label to identify a batch of Assessments to find quickly |
If you have no batches or templates setup, you can simply ignore these fields. When finished click on the Save button and it will take you to the area for assigning Staff and Targets.
You can also amend the Co-ordinator and relevant dates at the top.
Assigning Staff / Targets
If you have just added a new Assessment you will already be in the relevant screen for assigning Staff and Targets. If you are looking to change an existing Assessment and add another Staff/Target assignment, select it from the left hand side first and use the notepad icon in the table at the top.
Click on Assign Staff and select a member of Staff that will be assessing Targets for the Learner. They will then appear on the left hand side where you need to tick them.
On the right hand side Curriculum Areas for the Target Cache are displayed (where they have been ticked to include on Baseline Assessments). You can use the +/- icons to break the areas down all the way to the Target level. You can either tick individual Targets OR tick an area to auto-tick everything underneath it.
When you have finished with your selection(s), click on Save. You can make more selections if required but when finished, click on Done to be taken to the Baseline Assessment view.
Information: DO NOT assign the same Target to more than one staff. The reports for Baseline Assessments will not reflect this if you do as they work on singular scores set.
Tip: After assigning an initial member of Staff, you can select up to two more that will assist in the assessment of the Targets selected by clicking the + icon in the same row of the Staff member assigned.
Viewing Baseline Assessment in Manager
If you have just finished assigning Staff/Targets and clicked Done, you will automatically be on the view for the Baseline Assessment. If not, locate the relevant Learner in the left, click on the + icon and then click on the Baseline Assessment you are looking for.
The view area is split into 3 different areas:
Area | Description |
---|---|
General Details | This table displays the co-ordinator, dates, and if marked as complete. There are also 6 icons here that perform various functions: Allows you to edit the Baseline Creates a reassessment (see below for more info) Mark the baseline as complete Transfer assessment to live (see below for more info) Prints the assessment to a word document Archives the Baseline assessment (can be restored if necessary) |
Comments | Displays any chronological comments added to the Assessment. You can add more here as required |
Assignments | This area lists Targets assigned to Staff and the Scores that have been set and any comments. You can remove any Targets assigned here if required |
Updating the Scores for an Assessment
This is done via the widget Staff - My Data on the dashboard. Either add this yourself using the Add Widget option or assign it to others using the Dashboard Manager.
In the list of options displayed, locate the My Integrated Baseline Assessments. Using the + icons breakdown the area until you find the relevant Learner and Baseline. If you are looking for a Re-Assessment, this will fall underneath the original Baseline Assessment.
Once you have found the one you are looking for, click on it to be taken to the Assessment screen for recording the scores.
In the list of displayed areas/Targets, select the relevant score from the dropdown and the screen will update the numerical value, achieved and assessed date automatically. You can continue to select the rest of the scores as required. When finished, click Save Changes on the right hand side.
If required you can add an individual comment to the Target using the notepad icon OR add a general comment in the Comments area near the top using the + icon.
Now when anyone goes back to the Baseline Manager and views this, they will see the scores you have entered.
Marking an Assessment as Complete
Open the Baseline details via the Baseline Manager as described above. In the top table, click the tick icon and this will mark the Baseline Assessment as complete.
Creating a Re-Assessment
If you are doing the Assessment again for this Learner at a later date or academic year, you can create a re-assessment to setup another Baseline Assessment that is linked to the original. This will copy all the assignments you setup before as well.
Open the Baseline details via the Baseline Manager as described above. In the top table, click the copy icon and it will ask you to enter the following information:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Re-Assessment Batch | Select a batch if required this Assessment may fall under |
Re-Assessment Title | Add a title to help illustrate what the re-assessment is for |
Re-Assessment Start Date | Start date of the assessment |
Re-Assessment End Date | End date of the assessment |
Copy recorded scores? | No - The scores will all start empty Copy from original Baseline - Set the scores as per the original Baseline scores Copy from last Reassessment - Set the scores as per the last Reassessment done on the original baseline |
Click Save to finish and Databridge will let you know you can now open this on the left hand side.
Transferring Targets
In most cases Baseline Assessments take place to set the intended Targets for the Learner during their time there. On completion of an Assessment, the results are used to determine which ones should be set or not, or perhaps they may be other changes needed.
To save time in creating these Targets for the Learner in their actual Targets screen, you can transfer them from the Baseline Assessment.
Open the Baseline details via the Baseline Manager as described above. In the top table, click the cloud icon. This will display a modal of all the Targets on the assessment. Here you can tick/untick the Select? column to include/exclude it from transfer and set all the relevant fields needed for live Targets (MTG, Dates).
When you are happy with your selections, click on the Transfer button and this will create these as live Targets for the Learner. It will also set the Baseline Score field on these Targets as per the score on the assessment.
Information You can use the Bulk Set Dates/Medium Term Goal to bulk populate the fields needed if they are generally the same OR do a bulk set of Targets at a time that will share the same Goal/Dates.
Exporting / Reporting Baseline Information
There are a few different ways you can look at Baseline Assessment information:

Curriculum Area Tracker | On the Baseline Manager under the Reports menu. This screen will display a grid of Areas/Targets and Scores with relevant colours and percentages |
