1. Recording incidental learning is important for capturing evidence that may not be related to any ongoing targets, but is still worth keeping record of. To do this, head to the Student Record by clicking Student > Find Student > *Student Name* > View Student.
2. Next, click INC Learn From the Navigation Bar on the right of the screen.
3. This will show you any existing Incidental Learning for the Student. To record a new instance, select Add New.
4. Within the box that opens, make sure to fill in all the details requested:
- The Heading box is what appears at a glance while on the previous screen.
- Describe what took place within the Details box
- Assign a category from the dropdown menu.
- Clicking Choose File will open your File Explorer so you can attach any images / documents.
- Click Add Area Link to open up a list of areas that other targets are linked to. For example, the student may not have a target that this learning relates to, but it could be related to an area that they do have a target in.
It is worth noting that Choose File and Add Area Link are not mandatory fields but are useful to capture more detail.
Lastly, press Save. This will now appear alongside the other logs.
