The Linked Events screen is where you can view all linked events as well as create links between multiple events.
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Linking Events
Before you can link events you need to set up a grouping for them.
To set up a new group to link events to, click on the Add Grouping button. This will open up a window where you must first give your group a label/reference number. Click Save/Update Group Name and then all you have to do is add the relevant events to the group using their ID numbers.
Click on the Add ID to Link button, type in the Event ID, press OK, and the event will now appear in the list. Repeat this for as many times as is necessary.
You can also link events to already existing groups by finding the group in the list, clicking on the notepad icon for the grouping, and then using the window that appears to add in the additional events.
Info: You can also link events from a learner's record if you have the relevant permission to access the Event Log tab on their record, however you can only link events for that one learner, and not link events including one learner to another with a different learner. To learn more about linking events this way, you can read the short article here - Event Log Tab
Viewing Linked Events
Click on Event Log and then Linked Events from the dropdown. This will take you to the Linked Events screen. On the left are various filters that you can use to narrow down which events appear on the screen. Select the date range you wish to view events from, select the relevant site (only applicable if you have multiple sites) as well as filter by events of a specific category if required. You can also search for a specific Event if you know the ID for the Event by entering it into the Event ID field.
Once you have the filters set, any Linked Events will then appear on screen, displaying the label for the Group they are in, the individuals involved, and the date and category of the events concerned.
To view the event details from the linked events screen, click on the plus symbol in the row for the relevant group. Clicking on the text for an event here will then take you to the page for that event in a new window.
To edit which events are attached to a group, or to edit the title of a group, click on the relevant notepad icon. This will open up a window where you can change the name of the Grouping Name/Reference, as well as add or remove events to link to this group.
To link an event to the group you have selected, click the Add ID to Link button and then enter the ID number for that event. Click OK, and it will now appear in the list for the group. Click Save/Update Group Name to save your changes.
Info: You can also view which events are linked from the Find Event screen. When viewing events on the find event screen, any events that have links to other events will have a blue chain icon to denote this. When you click on this icon, a window will appear that then shows all events linked to the one you have clicked on.
