To use text services, you need to ensure that you have an account created with an existing SMS provider such as Clockwork, PageOne or TextAnywhere.
Once done, go to Administration -> Policies on the left hand navigation menu. Click on the SMS tab and select the appropriate radio button for the SMS provider.

Tip
Check which SMS providers are available in Databridge BEFORE setting one up. If you use an existing provider not listed by Databridge contact us for possible integration.
Important
You will need the permission Admin - SMS Service to use the functions listed in this article.
Clockwork Api
Ensure the checkbox for 'Use Clockwork SMS' is ticked, enter your account API key provided by the supplier, and click on Save Settings. You can then use the 'Test Settings' to confirm the details are working.
PageOne
Ensure the checkbox for 'Use PageOne SMS' is ticked and enter your username, password credentials and click on Save Settings. You can then use the buttons for 'Get Remaining Credits' or 'Test Settings' to confirm the details are working.
TextAnywhere
Ensure the checkbox for 'Use TextAnywhere SMS' is ticked and enter your API username & password credentials and click on Save Settings. You can then use the buttons for 'Get Remaining Credits' or 'Test Settings' to confirm the details are working.
To find your your API Username and Password for Databridge, you must ensure you can log in using the new TextAnywhere platform. If you are unable to, please contact TextAnywhere to move your account to their new system.
Once logged in, navigate to Account settings from the Account button at the top right of the page. Click the API & IPs tab and you will find the Username and Password that must be entered into Databridge. If you do not know the password, please use the Change Password button.
Sending Text Messages
Go to the Dashboard on the left hand navigation menu. If you do not have it already, add the following widget -> Admin - SMS / Email Announcements. This widget allows you to select a list of people and send a text/email message accordingly.
The 'Select Contact' drop-down option provides the following:
Option | Function |
Learner | This will provide a list of Learners based on the Status and Type filters and use the Learners mobile number and email fields. |
Learner Contact | This will provide a list of Learners based on the Status and Type filters and uses their contacts marked as SMS contact for sending messages to. The email and mobile fields are under the 'Personal Contact Details' section of a Contacts record. |
Staff | This will provide a list of staff based on the Department and Category filters and will use the work mobile and email fields in the Staff record. |
Transport | This will provide a list of contacts set with the general address type of Transport in Standard Values. It will send SMS and emails using the email and mobile fields under the address tab for the general address. |
Once the required option is selected, tick the contacts required from the list, enter the message required in the Message textbox and then click on the Send Text Message or Send Email Message button as required.
A View Audit button is available so you can see the messages which were sent and to whom. To view this option, you will need the Audit Log permission.
Sending SMS to specific Learner Contact
Open a relevant Learner record from Learners -> Find Learner in the left hand navigation menu. Click on the Contacts tab and click the edit button to view the details of that contact.
Click the 'Send SMS' button and a modal will appear where you can enter the relevant message. Enter the required message and click on 'Send SMS' to finish sending.
Tip
The Mobile field is used for the phone number the text message will send to.
