You can create templates for different Risk Assessments to then assign to individual learners. To access the Risk Assessment Setup page, navigate to Administration > Standard Values > Education Management Values > Individual Risk Assessments.
Adding a New Risk Assessment Setup
This page will list all Risk Assessments already configured on your system, with the option to add new Assessments by clicking the Add New Risk Assessment Setup button.
When adding a new Risk Assessment Setup, you are given 7 fields to configure. The first three are pre-configured as:
- New Risk Assessment (This field will set the title of the assessment)
- Risk (to describe the specific risks involved)
- Existing Control Measures
These three fields can also be customised accordingly, simply click on the required field to edit them.
To add detail boxes to a setup, click on Add Details on the right hand side of the page. This will create a text box beneath each field which you can then populate accordingly. You can add multiple rows of text boxes by simply clicking Add Details again.
Once you have added detail boxes to the Risk Assessment, you can change the order that these boxes appear. To do this, click on Modify Details on the right hand side.
This will open a window displaying each field of your Assessment.
In the row to the right of a specific hazard, you have four icons:
- The padlock icon allows you to limit access to a hazard's details, by adding Security Group restrictions. Clicking on this will open a new window with a drop down displaying all security groups on your system
- The up and down arrow icons are used to change the order that any hazards appear on the Assessment
- The trash can icon deletes a hazard and its corresponding row
You can also lock access to any field within a Risk Assessment by ticking the fields' respective checkbox. Any details already added to the field will remain, but the user will not be able to edit them.
When clicking on options on the right, this will bring up a window allowing you to show/hide the second scoring option for the selected Risk Assessment.
To save your Risk Assessment Setup, click the Save Risk Assessment option on the right.
To return to the list of Risk Assessment Setups, click on the Back to List option on the right.
Editing Existing Setups
On the Risk Assessment list page you can view any setups already configured by clicking on the relevant notepad icon. Use the trash can icon to delete a Risk Assessment Setup
Configuring Score and Severity
You can configure the score and severity ratings for Risk Assessments by going to Administration > Standard Values > Learner Values, and then selecting either Risk Assessment - Likelihood Values or Risk Assessment - Severity Values.
Clicking on either of these options will open a window where you can then view, add, edit and delete any values for these areas.
Click on Add Value to enter another value for either likelihood or severity, as well as a corresponding numerical value. Click on the notepad icon next to any existing values to edit or delete them accordingly.
Note: The labels for both likelihood and Severity are configurable in the Defaults section of Standard Values and as such may appear on your system under a different label if you can't find either option in Learner Values. The labels for these are found in System Labels > Learners and then the Risk Assessment Likelihood/Severity fields.
