The external tab is used to record external links in relation to the Learner. There are three sections under this tab to group together related information.
Main Details
This section is used to record and view information against each of the below fields.
Clicking the magnifying glass button will display more information related to the relevant link.
To add/edit these links, click the three lines button next to it. This will bring up a modal where you can change the selection via a dropdown.
If the option you need is not available, you can click on the Add/Edit Options button which will take you to the relevant Standard Values area when clicked, to add/edit the values in these fields. When done you can return to the Learner and select the new link.

Social Worker | Selection for the Social Worker. |
DEA | Selection for the Direct Earnings Attachment office and contact.** |
Principal Funding Source | Selection for the Principal Funding Source. |
Funding Contact | Selection for the Funding Contact. |
Primary Care Trust | Selection for the Primary Care Trust. |
Local Education Authority | Selection for the Local Education Authority and contact. |
General Address | A General Address selection. The label for this can be changed to include any kind of link you like from the General Address area. |
General Address Link 2 | Another General Address selection. The label for this can be changed to include any kind of link you like from the General Address area. |
RTU Number | Text entry for the RTU Number |
Previous School | Text entry for information about the Learners previous school |
Current or most recent provider setting | Details of the most recent or current provider chosen from the dropdown list |
Social Services ID | Text entry for the Social Services ID. |
General Addresses, are added from Standard Values -> General Values -> General Addresses.
Local Education Authorities will only appear in the dropdown if the Local Authority checkbox is ticked for the Funding Office in Standard Values -> Learner Values -> Funding Offices.
Funding Records
This section lists all of the Funding Records for the Learner that were added from Learners -> Funding. There will be an edit button on any existing Funding Records which will take you to the aforementioned Funding area to edit any details for the record where necessary.

Funding Breakdown
Information Please note the Funding Breakdown section has been replaced with a newer funding area with the table above and the Funding option available in the Students module.
This is another section to add funding records. Using the Add Record button, you can fill out all relevant information for the Funding Record, although as this has been replaced by the above section and the Learners -> Funding area, so we recommend using that instead, as it offers greater control and consistency.
