You can record any benefits that the Learner is entitled to and are currently receiving. For example, they may be receiving Universal Credit. Along with this you can easily see which are still valid or are due to expire. You can also record their exemption from prescription charges and the basis of that exemption.
Exemption from Prescription Charges
With regards to exemption from prescription charges you will first need to set up the types of exemption so that this can be recorded.
Exemption types are configured in Standard Values, under the Learner Values panel. Choose the Benefits Exceptions configuration option. Click Add Value to add a new exemption type, type the name of the exemption type and click Save to add to the list.
To add details of the learner's exemption from prescription charges under the Benefits tab fill in the following three pieces of information in the three dropdowns:
- Qualifies for prescription exemption charges - Choose yes if they qualify for exemption
- In receipt of prescription exemption charges - Choose yes if they are in receipt of exemption
- Which exception is received - From the dropdown choose the exception type
Ensure to click Save Learner to save any changes.
