We were excited to bring our DB3 update to the delegates at the recent Natspec conference, and for those not in attendance we’re excited to share this with you too.

Based on the amount of work completed and the amount we estimate remains, we are more than 50% of the way to initial release.

We anticipate the release of DB3 in Autumn 2027

Let’s look at the timeline:

  • The first line of code was committed in October 2024 where we were assisted in a 12 month contract with an outside provider

  • 769 developments have been made since then (these vary in size)

  • We are now 3x faster at development than we were for the first half of the project

Based on this we are confident in a much shorter timeline to complete the second half of the project

This is our most up-to-date prediction based on the data we have, and we’ll continue to send you updates as the project progresses

These stats are only indicative of the DB3 project, and we will of course continue to support DB2 throughout the project to ensure we can bring you a quality experience

Initial release will include the core features included in DB2, including Progress Tracking, Attendance, ILR, Care/Support information, Work Experience, Timetabling, Workforce Collection, Event logs, Custom reporting, Student and Staff records

All remaining features will be released in subsequent, quicker succession

The second half of the project concerns features that are much more user-facing: the screens that you and your team use. We have a wealth of data to draw on from our experience working with you, your feature suggestions, and we’d love to hear more from you.

Here’s what you can expect from us in the near future:

  • Forums to hear more of your feedback

  • Invitations to get first-hand experience on the product

  • Continuous support and development of the current system

We want to thank you all for your patience during the project, and we can’t wait for DB3 to bring you more of the tools you need, to support you in the amazing work of your provisions.
